Dr. Abideen Adeyemi Adewale is a distinguished Islamic finance professional, regulator, and academic with over 13 years of post-PhD experience in international standard-setting, financial regulation, research, and capacity building within the global Islamic financial services industry.

He currently serves as Acting Assistant Secretary-General (Standard Implementation) at the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), where he provides strategic oversight for prudential standards implementation, regulatory capacity development, and industry stability initiatives among member jurisdictions. He previously held senior roles as Head of Research, Statistics and Publications and Lead Specialist at the IFSB, overseeing flagship publications including the Islamic Financial Services Industry Stability Report.

Dr. Adewale holds a PhD in Finance, a Master’s degree in Finance, and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, and is a certified training professional with executive education from leading global institutions. He brings to any board deep expertise in financial regulation, risk management, governance, policy development, and strategic advisory, underpinned by strong leadership, analytical rigor, and international exposure.
