Fazal has over 30 years banking experience ranging from Islamic Banking to Risk Management, Corporate and Project Finance, Restructuring and Asset Recovery and is well versed in Strategy Development and interacting and negotiating with regulators, compliance and monitory agencies.  He is the Managing Partner at  Mytradefinance Pty Ltd.

Over his career he fulfilled various executive roles for the Development Bank of South Africa, ABSA Bank and Standard Bank including being the Chief Operating Officer for ABSA Islamic Bank and the Executive Head of Standard Bank Rest of Africa Shariah Banking. Also worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as banking specialist with assignments including due diligence on Bank Muamalat (Indonesia), Société Générale (Ghana), NIB Bank (Malawi), and Diagnostic assessments on Skye bank (Nigeria) and Gulf African Bank (Kenya). He furthermore was the Team Lead, on Gulf African Bank for the transformation Project (Islamic Banking). His last banking position was as the Chief Executive Officer for First Community Bank Limited in Kenya.

Fazal holds a BA Honours (University of Natal), MBA “Cum Laude” (Bond University) and has completed Executive Training in Advanced Negotiation and Deal Making through Stanford University and Executive Management training through the IMD (International Institute of Management Development) Lausanne, Switzerland: Managing Corporate Resources.
