Abdur-Rasheed Babalola is a Financial Inclusion Professional with over 21 years of experience in various senior management positions in the financial services industry. He is an in-demand subject matter expert on building inclusive financial products and processes that are targeted at underserved segments, including Takaful (cooperative or mutual insurance). This has led to several speaking engagements on financial inclusion in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Currently Head of Takaful Advisory at Kord Capital, Abdur-Rasheed serves regularly as a Guest Speaker, Consultant, Visiting Lecturer, and Training Faculty with several reputable institutions, including the International Labour Organization (ILO); Impact Insurance Facility; West African Insurance Institute-Gambia; College of Insurance & Financial Management Studies-Nigeria; The Gambian Insurance Association; Zenith Insurance Company Limited; Enterprise Life-Gambia; Konnect2 Africa; Enhancing Financial Innovation & Access (EFInA); Old Mutual; and National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

A certified Takaful practitioner from the Institute of Islamic Banking & Insurance (IIBI)-UK, Abdur-Rasheed holds a Bachelor’s in Insurance and Master’s in Managerial Psychology, both from the University of Lagos. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and Nigerian Institute of Management.
