As Ramadan comes to an end, the excitement for Eid al-Fitr begins! However, while we prepare for the celebrations, it’s important to ensure that our spiritual progress from Ramadan doesn’t fade away. Here’s how to transition smoothly from fasting to festivity while keeping the spirit of Ramadan alive.

  1. Seek Laylat al-Qadr Until the End

Even though Eid is near, the last moments of Ramadan are precious. The 27th night is believed to be Laylat al-Qadr, but we should continue seeking it until the final sunset. Keep making dua, reading the Quran, and giving charity.

  1. Give Zakat al-Fitr Before Eid Prayer

Zakat al-Fitr is a small but significant charity that is required before the Eid prayer. It purifies our fasts and ensures those in need can also enjoy the celebrations. Make sure to give it in time!

  1. End Ramadan with Gratitude and Reflection

Take a moment to reflect on how Ramadan has changed you. What new habits have you developed? How can you maintain them beyond Ramadan? Set small spiritual goals for the months ahead.

  1. Prepare for Eid the Sunnah Way

On the morning of Eid, follow the beautiful Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:
✅ Take a bath (Ghusl).
✅ Wear your best (but modest) clothes.
✅ Eat something sweet before heading to the Eid prayer.
✅ Recite the Takbir on the way:
“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa Lillah il-hamd.”

  1. Celebrate with Joy, Not Excess

Eid is a day of joy and gratitude, not extravagance. Enjoy delicious food, visit loved ones, and give gifts, but don’t forget the true essence—thanking Allah for the blessings of Ramadan.

  1. Carry Ramadan’s Spirit Forward

The real success of Ramadan is seen after it ends. Continue praying, giving charity, and seeking Allah’s pleasure. Even fasting six days in Shawwal brings an immense reward. Let’s make Eid not an end but a new beginning!

Eid Mubarak! May Allah accept our fasts, prayers, and good deeds.
