The International Atlantic Economic Society has selected the Chief Executive of Trust Arthur, Dr. Basheer Oshodi as the June 2023 “Member of the Month.”

Basheer Oshodi has over 23 years of work experience in banking and academia.  He set up a non-interest banking window at Stanbic IBTC Bank and Sterling Bank.

Basheer has completed a PGD Diploma in Global Business at Said Business School, University of Oxford; the Executive Programme on International Housing Finance at Wharton, University of Pennsylvania; and Digital Business Strategy at Columbia University. He also attended the University of Lagos, London Metropolitan University, University of Buckingham, and DaVinci Institute-South Africa. He is an Author of the book titled – ‘An Integral Approach to Development Economics: Islamic Finance in an African Context’; and co-author of Islamic to Integral Finance: A Semiotic Approach. He has also published 30 academic articles & chapters and over 50 non-academic articles.

In an interview with the IAES official on his decision to become a member of the International Atlantic Economic Society. He said, “IAES has involved in its activities some of the most renowned researchers in the world; those that perfectly combine research with economic policies and have been involved in the implementation of policies worldwide. Many of them have served in government, international organizations, and/or international financial institutions and they have contributed immensely to the development of academics and overall global policy improvement. Second, I worked on a 2014 research article (on the use of cooperative inquiry and phenomenology in financial institutions). A member of IAES reached out asking why I was not a member of the association. I immediately joined and took part in some of the IAES conferences. I did this because I realized how important it is to be a part of elite research endeavors.”  Dr. Basheer has been a member of the IAES for over 8 years.
